Lillard says he will play in Game 3 after dislocating finger
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard said he plans to play in Game 3 against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday after leaving Game 2 with a dislocated finger.
"I'm playing," Lillard said after Portland's 111-88 loss, according to Blazers.com's Casey Holdahl. "It's just sore, a little bit tender to the touch."
Lillard left in the third quarter Thursday after suffering a dislocated finger on his non-shooting left hand. The team said X-rays were negative.
Head coach Terry Stotts said after the game he was unsure of his star's status. "I think it's too early to say what his status is for the next game," he told reporters.
Lillard cooled somewhat Thursday, scoring 18 points on 6-of-14 shooting before the injury. The 30-year-old went into Game 2 averaging 37 points per contest since arriving at the NBA's Florida campus.
