Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Porter was arrested Sunday morning on charges of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, according to Mahoning County Sheriff records obtained by Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor.

A loaded firearm was "accessible to any operator or passenger without leaving the vehicle," according to the booking document.

Porter was later released on $4000 bond.

"We are aware of the situation involving Kevin Porter Jr. and are in the process of gathering information," the Cavs said in a statement. "We have spoken with Kevin and will continue to address this privately with him as the related process evolves."

The Milwaukee Bucks selected Porter with the 30th overall pick in last year's draft and subsequently traded him to Cleveland. He averaged 10 points, 3.2 boards, and 2.2 assists during his rookie campaign.
