It appears Kevin Garnett isn't the only former NBA player to have an interest in purchasing the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Arron Afflalo is leading a group of "two-to-five individuals" with a collective net worth of more than $10 billion that plans to submit a bid for the team no later than this weekend, sources told Pat Graham and Dave Campbell of The Associated Press.

Timberwolves legend Garnett announced this week he's heading a group that's preparing its own bid to purchase the franchise. Longtime owner Glen Taylor has put the team up for sale on the condition it remain in the Twin Cities.

Afflalo, 34, played 11 seasons in the NBA and has no obvious connection to the Timberwolves - he grew up in Southern California, attended UCLA, and played for six other teams between 2007-18. He made approximately $59 million during his playing career, per Basketball-Reference. Venture capitalist Brock Berglund is also reportedly part of Afflalo's group.
