Veteran forward Michael Beasley won't appear for the Brooklyn Nets this season after all, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

The team intends to add a different player after the 31-year-old reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus during a screening in Orlando.

Beasley was signed as a substitute player July 9. His late addition was meant to address the team's litany of absences. To date, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Spencer Dinwiddie, Taurean Prince, Wilson Chandler, and Nicolas Claxton are unavailable for the remainder of the season.

Justin Anderson is a potential target, Charania reports. The 26-year-old small forward has appeared in 219 regular-season games in the past five years, including three outings with the Nets earlier this season.
