The BIG3 is pushing back the start of its preseason tournament - which was to operate as a quarantined reality show - and regular season due to the coronavirus pandemic, a source told USA Today's Mark Medina.

The reality show, which will reportedly involve 16 players competing for a seven-figure prize, was slated to begin airing during the first week of May. Meanwhile, the fourth BIG3 season was scheduled for a June 20 start date.

The league now intends to delay its preseason tournament until some point in August or September and is pushing the start of its regular season to the fall or winter. No start dates have been finalized yet by the league in what's described as "a fluid situation," according to Medina.

Plans are in the works to refund tickets that were already purchased for previously scheduled regular-season games, Medina adds.
