The Denver Nuggets will appoint assistant general manager Calvin Booth as the team's next general manager, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

Booth is set to fill the vacancy created when former GM Arturas Karnisovas left the organization to become the Chicago Bulls' vice president of basketball operations.

Booth played for six teams over 10 NBA seasons before transitioning into the league's executive ranks.

The 43-year-old began his front-office career as a scout for the New Orleans Pelicans, then spent four seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves before joining the Nuggets.

Booth was previously rumored to be in the running for the Bulls' general manager position.
