🏀 Hiatus Diaries: How Boban, Ibaka, and others spent their week

With a global pandemic suspending sporting events worldwide, athletes suddenly have tons of time on their hands. In the latest installment of our weekly NBA series, we look at how they've been keeping themselves entertained - and in shape - while self-isolating.

Mess with Thybulle, you get the horns

The season may be on pause, but Philadelphia 76ers rookie Matisse Thybulle seems to be hitting his stride as a social media star. He's clearly the front-runner for TikTok MVP of the season.

This week, he broke up the monotony of self-isolation by befriending his autonomous vacuum robot.

Hopefully Thybulle's robot shows him the same compassion when the machines inevitably rise up and seize control over Earth.

Enes tries his hand at 'TikTok-Toe'

Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter evidently knows that staying mentally sharp is just as important as physical fitness these days.

But let's be honest: his cat is simply atrocious at Tic-Tac-Toe. I mean, come on ... what the heck is this strategy?

How thirsty are you?

Serge Ibaka is one of the league's top food and beverage connoisseurs. This week, the Toronto Raptors big man gave fans the lowdown on one of his favorite recipes:

Whoa, slow down there, Serge!

If you want to recreate this deceptively complex mocktail at home, here's what you'll need:

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  1. Quarter lemon and squeeze its juice into a glass.
  2. Bring water to boil.
  3. Pour the water into glass.
  4. Let cool; serves one.

And now for something completely different

If there was ever a time to practice doing ... whatever that is ... this would be it.

For him, every Tuesday is 'Tacko Tuesday'

Only a handful of people in human history have first-hand experience with being 7-foot-7, but even fewer people (presumably) know what it's like to be stuck inside Tacko Fall's refrigerator.

This week, the Celtics rookie gave fans a glimpse into that exact point of view.

By the way, the movie clip Fall used is from "Rush Hour 3," and the giant Chris Tucker nearly walks into was played by 7-foot-9 Chinese basketball player Sun Ming Ming, one of the true legends of grainy early YouTube highlight reels.

Baby on board

Sacramento Kings shooting guard Kent Bazemore and his wife Samantha announced an impending addition to their family's roster.

However, it appears one of the long-term projects already on the team wasn't too happy about the prospect of losing touches to a rookie:

The post-coronavirus baby boom is no joke.

Bobanaldinho

Dallas Mavericks bon vivant Boban Marjanovic got in on the "Toilet Paper Challenge," but made one fatal flaw:

Folks, when you're 7-foot-4 and boast a digestive system on par with a small bison, you can't afford to be punting even one roll of TP into the shallow end.

Home Cook-ing

Los Angeles Lakers guard Quinn Cook has been polishing his dribble-drives against his furniture to dazzling effect. Watch how he puts the garbage can on skates with a quick crossover, then absorbs contact with the chair in the restricted zone for a mean flush.
