Report: G League season likely canceled, players will still be paid
NBA teams expect the remainder of the G League season to be canceled, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews.
However, players have been told they will continue to receive pay through the end of the schedule.
An announcement is not imminent, and players and team personnel have been told to remain in their respective cities, per Wojnarowski.
March 28 was the final day G League games were originally scheduled, with the postseason beginning in April.
As things stand, the Milwaukee Bucks' affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, leads the league with a 33-10 (.767) record - just as their parent club owns the best winning percentage in the NBA (.815).
The top scorer for the 2019-20 season to date has been the Herd's Frank Mason III, averaging 26.4 points per game. The Westchester Knicks' Ivan Rabb is the top rebounder at 12.1 per game, while the Lakeland Magic's Josh Magette is the assists leader at 10.6 per game.
