Amar'e Stoudemire appears to be planning a comeback stateside.

The 37-year-old is reportedly working out in hopes of returning to the NBA, according to The New York Times' Marc Stein.

Stoudemire was recently playing overseas with the Chinese Basketball Association's Fujian Sturgeons after signing a contract with the club in late October. He averaged 16.5 points and 8.3 rebounds in 11 games with the team before returning to the United States. Stoudemire came back partly because of the distance between him and his family, Stein reports.

The power forward also appeared in eight games for BIG3 club Tri-State last season.

Stoudemire last played in an NBA game during the 2016 postseason, suiting up for the Miami Heat in a hard-fought seven-game series defeat to the Toronto Raptors.

The six-time All-Star has averaged 18.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks across parts of 14 NBA seasons spent with four organizations.

Stoudemire's career highlights include deep playoff runs with the Phoenix Suns alongside Steve Nash in Mike D'Antoni's revered "seven seconds or less" offense during the mid- to late-2000s, and helping lead the Knicks to the postseason in 2010-11 during his first campaign in New York.
