Patrick Beverley is widely considered one of the NBA's more tenacious backcourt defenders, but not by Russell Westbrook.

"Pat Bev trick y'all, man, like he playing defense," Westbrook said following the Houston Rockets' 102-93 win over Beverley's L.A. Clippers on Wednesday, according to Fox 26's Mark Berman. "He don't guard nobody, man. He just running around, doing nothing."

Beverley guarded James Harden on several possessions Thursday. The Beard frequently torched him en route to a 47-point performance on 54% 3-point shooting.

The bad blood between Westbrook and Beverley dates back to the 2013 playoffs when Westbrook suffered a knee injury after Beverley lunged at him in a play for the ball. Further on-court flare-ups have occurred in the seasons since.

Beverley fouled out of Thursday's game, while Westbrook scored 17 points on 6-of-20 shooting.
