Toronto Raptors forward Patrick McCaw underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove a benign mass behind his left knee on Wednesday, and he'll be reevaluated in four weeks, the team announced.

It was reported earlier that McCaw would miss several weeks after the procedure, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Head coach Nick Nurse revealed Monday that McCaw was seeing a specialist to further examine his ailment, according to Eric Koreen of The Athletic.

The 24-year-old was again expected to provide depth for the Raptors at the wing this season but has appeared in just two of the team's six games.

His absence could strain an already tight rotation even further. Despite only playing in two contests, McCaw has already logged a combined 40 minutes of action. That ranks fourth among Toronto's non-starters this season, as Nurse has opted against providing many minutes to summer additions Stanley Johnson and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

OG Anunoby 205

Stanley Johnson 10

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson 4

McCaw is averaging 3.7 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists throughout his four-year career. He's won the NBA championship in every season he's played in, including once with the Raptors in June and twice with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018.
