Miami Heat forward James Johnson has returned to practice and will travel with the team to Atlanta for Thursday's game against the Hawks, head coach Erik Spoelstra announced Wednesday.
Johnson was forced to sit out the start of Heat training camp earlier in October after failing to meet the team's strictly enforced conditioning requirements. His agent, Mark Bartelstein, said at the time that Johnson had failed to meet a specific weight target.
The veteran swingman rejoined the Heat for the first time on Oct. 18, but there's no word yet as to when he'll make his season debut.
Johnson, 32, averaged 7.8 points and 3.2 rebounds across 55 games with Miami last season.
