A group of NBA heavyweights is entering the premium tequila business.
Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan, Los Angeles Lakers president Jeanie Buss, Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Wesley Edens, and Boston Celtics governor Wyc Grousbeck and wife Emilia Fazzalari are launching Cincoro Tequila this month.
The group of power brokers came up with the idea after a 2016 dinner when they discovered a mutual fondness for the agave-based alcoholic beverage.
Cincoro offers four versions, retailing from $70 a bottle for unaged tequila to $1,600 "extra Anejo" that's been aged 40-44 months.
