Thunder's George undergoes successful left shoulder surgery

Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Paul George underwent successful surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder Tuesday, a team spokesperson told ESPN's Royce Young.

This is the second surgery the 29-year-old has had over the last month, having undergone successful elective surgery on his right shoulder to repair a partial thickness supraspinatus tendon tear May 7.

George will be reassessed around the start of training camp.

He's currently one of three finalists for both Defensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player, with the winners being revealed at the 2019 NBA Awards on June 24.

In his second season with Oklahoma City, George ranked second in the Association in scoring (28 points per game) and first in steals (2.2) while contributing 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists across 77 appearances.
