Durant officially listed as questionable for Game 5

The Golden State Warriors could be on the verge of receiving some much-needed backup as they face elimination Monday night trailing 3-1 in the NBA Finals.

Kevin Durant is officially listed as questionable heading into Game 5 at Scotiabank Arena against the Toronto Raptors, according to Logan Murdock of NBC Sports Bay Area.

The two-time Finals Most Valuable Player has been out of action with a calf injury he suffered in Game 5 of the second round against the Houston Rockets on May 5.

Sunday marked a pivotal moment in Durant's recovery, as it was the first time the 30-year-old forward was able to practice with his teammates. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr sounded optimistic about Durant's chances to suit up Monday.

"Yeah. Because what he's going to do today he hasn't done. He's doing more today, and then we'll know more after that," Kerr said, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell.

While Durant was able to get some work in, it apparently wasn't much, according to Friedell. The 10-time All-Star was the last Warrior to emerge from the locker room for practice and one of the first to return, eventually reappearing with two ice packs wrapped around his right calf and Achilles tendon.

Durant's inability to compete in Game 4 at Oracle Arena on Friday reportedly caused "a mixture of confusion and angst" among his teammates who were hopeful he would push through and play. Golden State lost the game by 13 points and now trail 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Through 11 playoff games, Durant has averaged a career-best 34.2 points on 51.3 percent shooting to go with 5.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and a rejection in 39.1 minutes.
