Report: Ja Morant to undergo minor scope on right knee
Former Murray State guard Ja Morant will undergo a minor scope to remove a "loose body" from his right knee Monday, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 6-foot-3 dynamo is reportedly expected to recover in three-to-four weeks, putting him on track to return close to or shortly after the 2019 NBA Draft on June 20.
Barring a monumental move, the New Orleans Pelicans will likely select Duke phenom Zion Williamson with the top pick this year, paving the way for Morant to land with the Memphis Grizzlies at No. 2 overall.
Morant lit the Ohio Valley Conference on fire as a sophomore this past season. The consensus first-time All-American averaged 24.5 points, 10 assists, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 55.6 percent from the field in 33 appearances.
No. 12-seeded Murray State pulled off a first-round upset over fifth-seeded Marquette in this year's NCAA Tournament before falling to Florida State in the second round.
