Durant out for Game 2, a return in Game 4 reportedly 'most logical option'

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr confirmed on Friday that Kevin Durant won't play in Sunday's Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

Durant is expected to return midway through The Finals, with Game 4 the "most logical option," as Yahoo's Chris Haynes reported earlier Friday.

He hasn't played since May 8 due to a right calf strain. The forward traveled with the Warriors to Toronto, but Kerr said he hasn't practiced yet. The coach added that the Warriors won't bring Durant back before he's ready.

"Once he's ready to play, he'll play," Kerr said, according to Yahoo's Vivek Jacob.

A Durant return could help shift the momentum of the series. The Raptors controlled the pace of Game 1, rolling to a 118-109 win. The Warriors have now lost their last four NBA Finals games without Durant dating back to 2016.
