The NBA announced Monday that Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul has been fined $35,000 for "aggressively confronting and recklessly making contact with a game official" in the dying seconds of a Game 1 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

Paul made contact with referee Josh Tiven while reacting to the official's out-of-bounds call with five seconds left in the game. The nine-time All-Star received his second technical foul of the contest and was automatically ejected.

The Rockets voiced several complaints about officiating on Sunday, with head coach Mike D'Antoni saying postgame that referees admitted to missing closeout fouls.

Earlier Monday, it was reported that Houston has compiled a data-driven audit of officiating in Warriors games dating back to last season's Western Conference finals.
