Former NBA All-Star and current broadcaster Chauncey Billups will meet with the Minnesota Timberwolves in regards to their president of basketball operations role, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania and Jon Krawczynski.

The role has been open since the dismissal of Tom Thibodeau in January. It was reported earlier this month that the Timberwolves planned on keeping general manager Scott Layden and interim coach Ryan Saunders.

Billups has been working as a broadcaster for ESPN since retiring as a player in 2014, but has been linked to previous front-office openings with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons.

The Wolves are also reportedly set to interview Houston Rockets vice president Gersson Rosas, Denver Nuggets assistant general manager Calvin Booth, and Los Angeles Clippers GM Michael Winger. Sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that Brooklyn Nets assistant GM Trajan Langdon will interview for the position as well.
