The Golden State Warriors could be without two of their most important players to open their second-round series against the Houston Rockets.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters Saturday that both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are questionable to play in Game 1 against the Rockets, according to The Athletic's Marcus Thompson II.

"They both came in today and got some work and we'll see how they're doing tomorrow," Kerr said.

Curry, who was dogged by ankle injuries early in his career, briefly left Friday's Game 6 against the Los Angeles Clippers after rolling his right ankle in the first half. The 31-year-old returned and finished with 24 points, six rebounds, and six assists in 38 minutes.

Thompson checked out of the game after rolling his right ankle in the third quarter but also returned to log 38 minutes.

Kerr did not paint a particularly rosy picture of the 29-year-old's status, though.

"It was a significant sprain," Kerr said of Thompson. "He was limping last night."

Curry and Thompson ranked first and third in scoring for the Warriors this season, with 27.3 and 21.5 points per game, respectively. The long-time backcourt tandem has 11 All-Star appearances and seven All-NBA team selections between them.

The first game in the rematch of last year's Western Conference finals against the Rockets is slated for Sunday, Apr. 28 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
