Embiid doubtful for Game 1 vs. Nets
The Philadelphia 76ers listed center Joel Embiid as doubtful with left knee soreness Friday ahead of Saturday's Game 1 against the Brooklyn Nets, according to NBC Philadelphia's Serena Winters.
Embiid said he began to experience pain in his left knee after he returned from February's All-Star break, according to Winters.
As the most prolific and gregarious member of a star-studded 76ers core that features Jimmy Butler, Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, and JJ Redick, Embiid helped push the team to its second straight season with 50-plus wins as Philadelphia finished at 51-31.
The two-time All-Star continued to increase his production in Year 3. In a career-high 33.7 minutes per game over 64 appearances, Embiid averaged 27.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game.
