The Memphis Grizzlies have signed forward Bruno Caboclo to a multi-year deal, the team announced Wednesday. Sources told Grizzlies.com's Michael Wallace the contract will cover the rest of this season and 2019-20.

Over two 10-day contracts with Memphis, Caboclo has averaged 6.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 21.1 minutes per game - easily the most playing time of his five-year career.

Prior to his recent run with the Grizzlies, Caboclo made 28 appearances with the Houston Rockets' G League affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers. In 28.3 minutes per game, the 23-year-old averaged 16.4 points on 51.6-percent shooting, 7.1 rebounds, and three blocks per game.

Despite boasting a 6-foot-9 frame and an enormous 7-foot-7 wingspan, Caboclo has struggled to find a consistent role since making his debut with the Toronto Raptors back in the 2014-15 season.

Enamored by his raw physical gifts, Toronto selected the Brazilian 20th overall in 2014. The choice drew immediate criticism, leading to the infamous declaration from ESPN's international prospect expert Fran Fraschilla that Caboclo was "two years away from being two years away."

Caboclo now has an opportunity work alongside some familiar faces. Three of his former teammates - Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, and C.J. Miles - were acquired by Memphis from Toronto in last Thursday's trade deadline deal that centered around Grizzlies big man Marc Gasol.
