DeRozan in favor of star players demanding trades

Over the past few seasons, many NBA stars have demanded trades, including Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and most recently, Anthony Davis.

San Antonio Spurs star DeMar DeRozan, who was acquired from the Toronto Raptors in the blockbuster deal for Leonard, supports his peers and believes in controlling your own destiny.

"We all have the right, and if you feel that way, if you are not comfortable, if you want to go somewhere else that you feel you will be better off being at, go for it," DeRozan said, according to Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio-Express News. "I'm all for it. Nobody should feel enclosed to be at one place if they don't feel like it. I don't have a problem with it."

"A normal person at a job, if they don't want to work at that job any more, they can easily put in their 30-day notice and go elsewhere if it's best for them," he added. "I don't see why we shouldn't be able to have that same right."

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich shared a similar sentiment last month, but he acknowledged that stars demanding trades might not be good for the league if the trend continues.

However, Popovich told Orsborn that he still has to "side with individuals doing what they want with the rest of their lives."
