The NBA has finished investigating the Cleveland Cavaliers' acquisition and subsequent waiving of Patrick McCaw and found no violations of the collective bargaining agreement, the league announced Monday.
The investigation was requested by the Golden State Warriors, who owned the rights to McCaw through restricted free agency.
The Cavaliers signed McCaw to a non-guaranteed two-year, $6-million offer sheet Dec. 28 that went unmatched by the Warriors. Cleveland released McCaw one week later.
He's since signed a one-year deal with the Toronto Raptors for the league minimum of $786,000.
