Wizards' Wall to see specialist for heel issue

Washington Wizards point guard John Wall, already ruled out of Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls due to a sore left heel, will see a specialist, coach Scott Brooks said via the Washington Post's Candace Buckner.

Wall missed the team's Dec. 10 game due to bone spurs in the same heel but played seven of Washington's next eight.

The specialist Wall will see is Green Bay Packers associate physician Richard Anderson, sources told The Athletic's David Aldridge. Anderson has operated on the likes of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Cam Newton.

While he's having a typical season statistically, the Wizards have struggled mightily with Wall running the point. He's logging his worst assist percentage since 2011-12, and is shooting only 30.2 percent from deep.

The Wizards, who traded their backup point guard Austin Rivers in exchange for Trevor Ariza on Dec. 17, will likely lean on Tomas Satoransky if Wall misses extended time.
