Billy Crystal will be joining longtime Los Angeles Clippers play-by-play announcer Ralph Lawler in the broadcast booth for an upcoming game.

The actor and diehard Clippers fan will serve as a color commentator for the team's Jan. 31 game against the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Rachel Yang of Variety. Crystal said he came up with the idea as a tribute to Lawler, who's set to retire at the end of the season after 40 years as the voice of the Clippers.

"It's going to be a real honor to sit with him and do this game," Crystal said. "And hopefully it goes well. Who knows? I may have a new career."
