Ex-Cavs coach Lue assisting Clippers in unofficial capacity
After his ouster as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this season, Tyronn Lue may have found a place to ply his trade for the time being.
The 41-year-old has been helping the Los Angeles Clippers in recent days in an unofficial capacity, Doc Rivers told the Los Angeles Times' Andrew Greif.
Lue, who manned the sidelines during the Cavaliers' unprecedented title-winning postseason run in 2016, previously worked in an official role as one of Rivers' assistant coaches, first with the Boston Celtics from 2011-13 and then with the Clippers during the 2013-14 season.
Rivers also coached Lue - albeit very briefly. Lue, then 26-years-old, played for the Orlando Magic during the 2003-04 season. Rivers was dismissed as that team's head coach after a 1-10 start.
