Charlotte Hornets center Frank Kaminsky took on the role of good neighbor during an evacuation at his high-rise building Thursday afternoon.

Kaminsky was at home preparing for his usual post-practice routine of playing Fortnite and eating Cheez-Its when the fire alarm went off, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer. He typically ignores the warning, but this time, residents were told to evacuate due to a bomb threat - one of many reported across Charlotte and the United States on Thursday.

"I had to walk down 49 stories because they shut off the elevators. Instead of grabbing my keys and my wallet, I grabbed a box of Cheez-Its for the long journey down," Kaminsky said. "About three stories down, there was a lady with a baby and a dog and a couple of other things she had to carry, so I just helped her carry the baby."

Kaminsky said he knew the mother and that it wasn't a big deal.

"I'm just a good Samaritan, not a hero," he said.

The mother confirmed the story in a since-deleted Instagram post, adding that she held onto Kaminsky's Cheez-Its while he carried her baby.
