Tristan Thompson tops Google's most searched athletes of 2018
No athlete inspired more Google searches in 2018 than Tristan Thompson.
The Cleveland Cavaliers center was the most searched athlete on Google across the United States and globally, beating out Olympians Lindsey Vonn and Shaun White, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell, and Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard, among others.
Thompson made plenty of headlines after welcoming a daughter, True Thompson, with girlfriend Khloe Kardashian and becoming embroiled in a cheating scandal.
The Cavs also claimed the top spot on Google's list of the most searched professional sports team across the U.S. in 2018. The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics were the only other NBA teams to appear on the list, finishing sixth and seventh, respectively.
