Los Angeles Lakers president Magic Johnson is denying an earlier report that claimed LeBron James is ignoring head coach Luke Walton and calling his own plays.

Johnson described the report as nothing more than media fodder before trying to explain why it was "wrong."

"We have a system (where) the ball moves around, a lot of pick-and-roll plays. If you watch us play, the ball is not in LeBron James' hands all of the time. It can't be," Johnson told SiriusXM NBA Radio, according to CBSSports.com's DJ Siddiqi.

"You want to pass it around, you want to get into your pick-and-roll plays. But hey, we're the Lakers, people are going to be talking about us. But that's not how it's going right now."

The Lakers have dropped two straight games and sit seventh in the Western Conference with an 11-9 record.

Walton is in his third season at the helm in Los Angeles and holds a 72-112 record with the team.
