At the direction of his attorney, Raymond Brothers, Philadelphia 76ers point guard Markelle Fultz won't participate in practices or games until he's evaluated by a shoulder specialist next week, Brothers told The Athletic's David Aldridge.

It appears to be another setback in Fultz's shoulder injury saga, which dates back to the beginning of last season. The sophomore's unusual shooting mechanics have been heavily scrutinized, particularly as a result of making just 53.4 percent of free-throw attempts since entering the league.

Tuesday's development also came a day after Sixers coach Brett Brown refused to commit to Fultz as the team's backup point guard over T.J. McConnell.
