L2M: Griffin committed 2 violations on winning and-1 drive vs. 76ers
Blake Griffin's game-winning and-1 drive against the Philadelphia 76ers Tuesday night is the play that never should have been.
The NBA's last-two-minute report notes that Griffin avoided two whistles which would have ruled his drive dead. The five-time All-Star went on to convert both the layup and free throw to give his Detroit Pistons a 133-132 lead and eventual overtime victory.
Upon receiving the inbound pass from Pistons teammate Reggie Bullock, Griffin lifted his pivot prior to making his dribble, which should have been a travelling violation.
He then extended his left arm into Sixers forward Robert Covington and held Covington's shoulder down while in the air. An offensive foul should have been called.

Griffin finished with a career-high 50 points on 20-of-35 shooting, 14 rebounds, and six assists in 44 minutes of action to help Detroit improve to 3-0 on the season.
