Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green underwent an MRI on his sore left knee Wednesday and did not practice, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell.

Green's knee flared up during Monday's scrimmage and he's been sidelined since. Although head coach Steve Kerr sounds optimistic about the setback, he is taking a cautious approach with a long season ahead.

"Draymond did not practice today and he won't play in Seattle," Kerr said, according to Friedell. "Just being careful. He still had a little inflammation this morning. The MRI was good, it was clean, so not any major long-term concern. But just trying to be smart."

The Warriors will take on the Sacramento Kings in Seattle on Friday for their second preseason tilt. They open up their regular season against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Oct. 16.
