Miami Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr. was forced to leave Tuesday's preseason contest against the Charlotte Hornets after a scary fall.

The Heat announced that Jones Jr. suffered a bruised right shoulder and X-rays returned negative.

Jones Jr. laid on the floor for several minutes before being helped to the locker room. A foul was called on Hornets forward Marvin Williams for the play, and rookie Marcus Lee entered the game to shoot the free throws on behalf of Jones Jr., effectively ending his night.
