Former Philadelphia 76ers president and general manager Bryan Colangelo has had preliminary talks with Canada Basketball about contributing to the program in some capacity, sources told Sportsnet's Michael Grange.

Colangelo may be trying to rebuild his professional reputation after being forced to resign from the 76ers in June following revelations of the Twitter scandal that was ultimately traced back to his wife.

Prior to the 76ers, Colangelo was president and GM of the Toronto Raptors from 2006-13, and still keeps a home in Canada's largest city. He also previously ran the Phoenix Suns from 1995-06.

Canada Basketball named another former Raptors GM, Glen Grunwald, as their new CEO on Wednesday.
