Draymond Green and LeBron James have had their fair share of one-on-one battles in the NBA Finals over the last four years. But at the end of the day, the two have a mutual respect for one another that exists on the court and goes beyond it.

The premiere of James' barbershop-style talk show, "The Shop," aired on HBO on Tuesday night, and Green was one of several guests joining the King to discuss sports, music, and a variety of other topics. The Golden State Warriors All-Star acknowledged James as the best basketball player in the world and said he should be more vocal about that fact.

"I think you should say that. I think you should believe that. And you should definitely let the world know that," Green said in response to a question from executive producer Maverick Carter about whether James should acknowledge he's the best player on the planet. "I think 'Bron over the last four years became LeBron James. And it wasn't nothing to do with winning and it wasn't nothing to do with stats. He found himself.

"People didn't start to view him as they view him now until he became that force, that man to say, 'I'm here.' I feel like for years, he shied away from saying, 'I'm here.' And when he started to say, 'F--- y'all, I'm here,' That's when he became who he is, and no one would have ever said that until he did it himself."

Green then brought up Michael Jordan - who James is constantly compared to in the debate about who is the greatest player of all time - and how Jordan was always self-aware of how great he truly was.

"Motherf---ers f---ed with Mike because Mike was like, 'I'm Mike with my hoop earring. F--- all y'all, I'm here.' And until he did that, that's when he became the figurehead that he is," Green said. "So many people shy away from that and that's why they never reach their full potential."
