Dwyane Wade and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, are one of the most well-established celebrity couples in the sports world today. Even hoop fans completely unfamiliar with Union's dramatic turns in films such as "Bring It On," "Bad Boys II," and "10 Things I Hate About You," know vaguely of her relationship with the Miami Heat star.

Presumably, Jimmy Butler, whom Wade played with on the Chicago Bulls during the 2016-17 season, is aware of these facts as well. That didn't stop the Minnesota Timberwolves wing from leaving a mildly flirtatious, all-caps comment on a picture Union posted on Instagram Thursday.

Butler slid right into the comment section with an emphatic, two-word appraisal:

End of story? Not quite. When Butler posted on his own Instagram page Friday, Wade seized the moment to launch his own ominous response:

Referring to the caption on Butler's post, Wade wrote:

Butler's response appears to hint at a certain degree of good-natured ribbing between the two rather than an outright declaration of war. Still, the moral of the story remains: If you want an invitation to the future Hall of Famer's cookout, you should probably avoid publicly hitting on his wife.
