And another one bites the dust.

It's become the norm for the Philadelphia 76ers to see their first-round draft picks succumb to injury before even taking the floor in their rookie year, with that trend continuing this year after Zhaire Smith reportedly fractured his left foot.

Joel Embiid knows that feeling all too well, missing his first two seasons in the Association with an injured foot of his own. Seeing what's become of Sixers rookies during his tenure, the All-Star center took to Twitter on Tuesday upon learning of Smith's fate to seemingly admit that there may be a curse plaguing the organization.

Markelle Fultz, the first overall pick in the 2017 draft, played a grand total of 14 regular-season games in part due to his ailing shoulder. The year prior, eventual 2018 Rookie of the Year, Ben Simmons, missed the season with a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of his right foot.

Nerlens Noel, now with the Oklahoma City Thunder, was another redshirt in Philly because of a torn ACL in his left knee.
