Less than a day after President Donald Trump leveled a Twitter attack at LeBron James over comments the NBA superstar made on CNN last week, the first lady has offered kinder words.

"It looks like LeBron James is working to do good things on behalf of our next generation," a spokesperson for Melania Trump, Stephanie Grisham, said on Saturday via the Associated Press.

Grisham added the first lady "would be open" to visiting James' new public school in Akron, Ohio.

Trump's ad hominem attack on James was punctuated with the sentence "I like Mike," a reference to Michael Jordan. On Saturday, Jordan issued a terse response on the matter, saying "I support LJ" through a spokesperson.
