Carmelo Anthony's trade to the Atlanta Hawks for Dennis Schroder was made official on Wednesday, with Atlanta also receiving a 2022 first-round pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder and forward Justin Anderson from the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Hawks also sent Mike Muscala to Philadelphia, with Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot going from the Sixers to the Thunder.

Anthony is expected to be released by the Hawks, after which he will have 48 hours to clear waivers before he signs a reported one-year contract for the league minimum with the Houston Rockets.

Anthony averaged 16.2 points per game in a tertiary role in his only season in Oklahoma City. "Although his tenure was only one year, the fact that Melo is a part of our history is important to us," Thunder GM Sam Presti said in a statement.
