Thomas jokes about return to Celtics on 1-year contract

Boston Celtics beat writer A. Sherrod Blakely ran into one of his frequent former subjects Tuesday at the McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, snapping an innocuous selfie with the athlete.

No big deal, right?

Well, after Blakely posted the photo with former Celtics All-Star, and unrestricted free agent, Isaiah Thomas, Thomas followed up in the comment section with something that may interest fans of his former team.

"Tell Boston I'll come back for a year LOL ... Good to see you. Miss my Boston fam!" he wrote.

They say in every joke lies a grain of truth. With the free-agent market cooling rapidly, could Thomas actually return to Boston on a one-year deal? Only time will tell, but it appears he harbors no hard feelings over his shocking departure from the Celtics last summer.
