Report: Spurs unlikely to match Grizzlies' offer sheet for Anderson

The San Antonio Spurs will reportedly pass on matching restricted free-agent Kyle Anderson's four-year, $37-million offer sheet from the Memphis Grizzlies, according to the San Antonio Express-News' Jabari Young.

The Spurs have until Sunday evening to match.

Anderson can provide the Grizzlies with steady playmaking from either forward spot and defensive versatility despite being dubbed with the moniker "Slo Mo."

San Antonio has suffered through a difficult offseason after losing long-time starting point guard Tony Parker and they continue to search for a new home for disgruntled All-Star Kawhi Leonard. Losing Anderson, who was thought to be a temporary replacement at forward, would hurt the Spurs young core of Dejounte Murray and rookie Lonnie Walker.

Anderson averaged 7.9 points, 5.4 boards, and 2.7 assists in 26.7 minutes per game. He started 67 of 74 contests last season.
