Breathe a sigh of relief, Mavericks fans.

The Dallas Mavericks have officially signed center DeAndre Jordan, the team announced Friday.

Jordan comes aboard on a reported one-year, $22.9-million contract, league sources told ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

The near 7-footer backed out of a verbal agreement to join the franchise on a four-year deal in 2015. His Los Angeles Clippers teammates, head coach Doc Rivers, and owner Steve Ballmer arrived at his home in Houston that offseason to persuade him to return to the team.

He declined his $24.1-million player option with the Clippers for 2018-19, electing to join Dallas for similar financial terms. As MacMahon points out, since there's no state income tax in Texas, Jordan didn't take a pay cut by leaving Los Angeles.

Jordan ranked second in the Association last season in field-goal percentage (64.5) and rebounds (15.2) per game for the 42-win Clippers, adding 12 points and 0.9 rejections in 31.5 minutes.

He ends his Clippers tenure as their all-time leader in games played, offensive and defensive rebounds, and blocked shots after 10 seasons.
