The Detroit Pistons have extended an offer to Atlanta Hawks executive Malik Rose to join the team's front office, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

Rose, who played in the league from 1996-2009, most notably with the San Antonio Spurs, was recently named the G League's Executive of the Year for his role with the Erie BayHawks.

The franchise has slowly been piecing their brain trust together this offseason after parting with former coach and team president Stan Van Gundy and general manager Jeff Bower. Longtime NBA executive Ed Stefanski was hired to help owner Tom Gores rebuild the Pistons' front office, which included the hiring of former Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey earlier this month.

It's unclear if Rose is a candidate for the Pistons' vacant general manager position.
