The Washington Wizards have told other teams that they're willing to trade down from the 15th overall pick in Thursday's draft if one of their own expiring contracts is included, according to Ben Standig of Sports Capitol.

Washington has a handful of contracts that will come off the books following the 2018-19 season, including its starting frontcourt pairing of Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat.

Gortat could be the likeliest trade piece after he feuded with franchise cornerstone John Wall last season, which resulted in Wall taking a veiled shot at the "Polish Hammer" following the team's first-round playoff loss to the Toronto Raptors.

"I think it's just figuring out what pieces can add to our team and what guys can stay and what guys can go that make us – that really want to be here, that really want to win and really want to take that next step," Wall said following the series.

Although Gortat started every game for the Wiz last season and averaged 8.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, moving his $13.5-million cap hit could seemingly improve the locker room and give the team - which projects to enter free agency above the tax line - some added financial flexibility.

The Wizards' other expiring contracts include Morris ($8.6 million), Jason Smith ($5.45 million), Jodie Meeks ($3.45 million), and Tomas Satoransky ($3.12 million). They also own the 44th overall pick on Thursday night.
