The Toronto Raptors have reportedly signed undrafted Arizona swingman Rawle Alkins to a training camp deal, according to Sports Illustrated's Jeremy Woo.

Already a physical specimen at age 20, Alkins' versatility will likely be his best asset as a professional. With the frame to guard a variety of positions, his defensive potential could have him contributing immediately.

He didn't post huge numbers at Arizona, but that mainly boils down to him often being the third or fourth option on a talent-laden team. Alkins is a solid spot-up shooter who can also get to the basket off the bounce. He could be a solid scorer in a bench role.

Rawle Alkins Bio

Position: SG
School: Arizona
College Experience: Sophomore
Height: 6-4
Weight: 217 lbs
Wingspan: 6-8
Vertical leap: 40.5 inches

What the draft analysts were saying

  • "An energetic, athletic, and burly wing who projects as a versatile defender and spot-up shooter. Thick frame, long arms, and athleticism give him potential versatility to defend guards, wings, and some forwards." - Kevin O'Conner, The Ringer
  • "A natural scorer who did not always have the opportunity to showcase his offensive ability this past season at Arizona. Has great strength in a filled-out frame, which allows him to outmuscle defenders and create space for his shot." - NBADraft.net
