Former Maryland guard Kevin Huerter will need two months to recover from surgery on torn ligaments in his right hand, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Huerter is a likely first-round pick in next week's NBA draft. After attempting to progress through pre-draft workouts, Huerter apparently decided to undergo surgery when a team holding a pick in the 20s said it would select him, according to Sports Illustrated's Jeremy Woo.

Measured at 6-foot-7, Huerter averaged 14.8 points, five rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game for the Terrapins during his sophomore season before declaring for the draft.
