Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson was able to start Game 2 of the NBA Finals versus the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, but veteran swingman Andre Iguodala was ruled out for the contest, the team announced.

Both players have been battling lateral leg contusions, with the 34-year-old Iguodala also recovering from a bone bruise.

Thompson injured his leg in a collision with Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith in the first quarter of Game 1 of The Finals. After briefly leaving to the training room, he returned to record a season-high 45 minutes of playing time. Thompson is averaging 20.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game this postseason.

Earlier in the afternoon, Warriors coach Steve Kerr told NBA TV's Jared Greenberg that Thompson "was getting better this morning when we looked at him and the training staff was with him."

Game 2 marks Thompson's 100th straight playoff appearance, extending the franchise's postseason iron-man record he already holds, per New York Times' Marc Stein.

Iguodala has been out since Game 4 of the Western Conference finals against the Houston Rockets. In 13 playoff games to date, the veteran has averaged 7.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.4 steals while providing a steady defensive presence.
