Draymond: 'We're still winning this'
The Golden State Warriors are facing elimination for the first time since 2016, but Draymond Green isn't afraid of the Houston Rockets.
Green parroted the same party line as Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who proclaimed that he felt great despite choking away a second straight game on Thursday to fall down 3-2 in the Western Conference finals.
"We're still winning this," Green told Marcus Thompson of The Athletic. "Book it."
Green likened the Warriors' predicament to when they fell down 2-1 against the Memphis Grizzlies in 2015. Much like the Rockets, the Grizzlies were the more physical team and it knocked the Warriors off their game, but they eventually found a path to victory by ignoring Tony Allen on defense.
A similar solution might not exist against the Rockets, given that their seven-man rotation strictly includes players who can either shoot or finish at the rim. However, since Chris Paul suffered a hamstring injury that will sideline him for Game 6 at the very least, the Warriors might already have a lifeline to repeat as champions.
