The Houston Rockets announced Chris Paul will miss Game 6 against the Golden State Warriors with a right hamstring strain.

The nine-time All-Star came up clutching his leg after a shot attempt late in Game 5. Paul was forced to watch the rest of the game from the bench while his teammates secured the 98-94 victory.

Paul missed three contests in March due to a hamstring injury and was held to just 58 regular-season games overall with additional injuries ranging from a bruised knee to an adductor strain.

Reigning Sixth Man of the Year Eric Gordon will start in Paul's place Saturday night in Oakland.

In 15 appearances this postseason, Paul has averaged 21.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and two steals per game while enjoying the first conference finals appearance of his 13-year NBA career.

The Rockets will take their 3-2 series lead to the Bay on Saturday night as the Warriors prepare to capitalize on Paul's absence and force a Game 7.
